Adding & Managing Products
Products are the foundation of your inventory. In Evrykit, every stock movement, sales order line, and purchase order line is linked to a product record.
Creating a Product
1. Go to Inventory โ Products
Click New Product in the top right to open the product form.
2. Enter basic details
Fill in the Product Name, select a Category and optionally a Product Family, and set the Unit of Measure (e.g. Each, Kg, Box).
3. Set the costing method
Choose between FIFO, Weighted Average, or Standard Cost. This determines how stock is valued and COGS is calculated on sales.
4. Link accounting accounts
Map the product to the correct inventory account, COGS account, and revenue account from your chart of accounts. These are used in automatic journal postings.
5. Save the product
A unique product code is auto-generated from your document numbering series. You can override it before saving.
Categories vs Families
Evrykit has two levels of product grouping:
- Product Family โ Top-level grouping for reporting and filtering (e.g. Consumer Electronics). Every product can optionally belong to one family.
- Product Category โ Operational grouping within a family, supports parent/child hierarchy (e.g. Smartphones under Consumer Electronics). Required for products.
โน๏ธ Create your categories and families under Inventory โ Categories and Inventory โ Families before adding products.
Units of Measure
Each product has a base UOM. If you buy in cases but sell in units, you can define a UOM conversion factor. Evrykit automatically converts quantities during stock movements and order processing.
Checking Stock Levels
From the product list or product detail page, click View Stock to see the current balance across all warehouses. You can drill down to individual bin locations from there.
Bulk Import
Use the Import button on the product list to upload a CSV file. Download the template first to ensure your column headers match the expected format.
